U of I rankings

I’ve been working away at my “to do” list all day and am really mentally and physically exhausted. It is quickly becoming clear that my summer “break” is over. Period.

And it is overcast and rainy today, with LOW heat. That’s right, it’s cool outside. It’s actually a little chilly for wearing shorts today and feels like a cozy day in the northwest! I just want to crawl in bed and take a nap. But I still have to complete a grading exercise for tomorrow’s teaching training and scrub the bathtub, which is orange from the iron in the water (we’re on well water out here, obviously). I’ve been putting it off for days and it keeps getting worse. So here’s your first glimpse into the dark side of country living. I’m sure there’s more to come.

But the real reason I sat down to write this is because I remembered something interesting from yesterday’s orientation. The University of Iowa is ranked #9 in the nation for the top party schools. Obviously this was not included in the orientation but stemmed out of a discussion we all had. And just today I learned that the University of Iowa is ranked #29 in “best public national universities” by U.S. News & World Report. Of course these numbers change every year, but I like what I’m seeing 🙂
