Hop, skip, and a jump

I finally booked a flight from Iowa to Washington.

It is very expensive to travel from the middle of nowhere to the middle of nowhere. And it is very time consuming. I have 4 different flights that day throughout 4 different states. There is just no getting around it – planes don’t fly directly from one small college town to another small college town. The total trip time is 10 hours, 6.5 of which will be spent in the air.

I’m compelled to complain, but instead will focus on a fun reading list. So far Julia Child’s “My Life in France” and the latest “Psychology Today” magazine are at the top of the list.

And on the upside, it was somehow cheaper to fly into Bellingham than Seattle. This saves me a *long* ride on the airport shuttle and will provide a beautiful flight overlooking the mountains on one side and the San Juan Islands on the other.

After stepping off the plane I’ll have 3 hours to rest before setting foot into summer class #1 (of 2), for 4 hours (5:30-9:30 pm).
